This complex dredging project involved the removal of 78,000 cy of PCB contaminated river sediments. Dredged sediments were transported to three separate staging areas for stabilization. Following nearly 11,000 tons of amendments (Portland cement & QuickLime), the material was staged for loadout and off-site disposal. 115,000 tons of stabilized sediment was disposed of at two different landfills in Michigan, including nearly 25,000 tons of TSCA impacted material.

Over 60,000 tons of clean backfill, consisting of sand, gravel, and rip rap, was then imported, and placed into the river for final restoration. Temporary steel sheet pile was used along 1,500 linear feet of riverbank to stabilize slopes and to support excavation depths.

Sevenson completed this project with over 132,000 on-site working hours between mobilization in April 2022 and completion of restoration and demobilization in July 2024.
