Successful design-build projects are completed through teamwork. Design-build projects require collaboration among owners, their engineering and design consultants, and the contractors selected to implement the remedies. When selected as the contractor for design-build teams, Sevenson works closely with team members to develop sound technical approaches to executing scopes of work required to remediate sites safely and on schedule while minimizing cost. With strong working relationships with experienced engineering, design, and specialty field services firms, Sevenson has extensive experience both managing and supporting design-build projects.

When managing a design build project, Sevenson develops a Project Management Plan to formulate successful processes and approaches to managing project studies, investigations, designs, and construction work tasks associated with a project. Processes include:

• Reaching consensus of project expectations and objectives among client, Sevenson, and design team
• Defining regulatory requirements governing all work elements
• Establishing an understanding of reporting and data requirements
• Assigning roles and responsibilities to experienced project management teams, and team subcontractors
• Clearly defining scope, deliverables, schedule, and budget for each project team member
• Proactively managing lines of communication with all project personnel
• Evaluating and tracking the daily, weekly, and monthly productivity, progress, cost, and schedule versus baseline budget and original schedule

Sevenson’s participation supports the development of detailed design documents. Our participation includes conducting thorough reviews at scheduled milestones as the design progresses to incorporate any changes identified during reviews.
